The Brief
Nine Dots Psychology approached Koded seeking a distinct and memorable brand identity for their new psychology business based in St Kilda, Melbourne. Their vision was clear: they wanted to break away from the traditional, clinical look often associated with psychology practices. Instead, they wanted a modern, approachable, and warm brand that feels professional yet relatable — a brand that would resonate with a broad demographic while standing out in a saturated market.

The Concept
Inspired by the concept of "thinking outside the box" — as represented in the classic nine dots puzzle — we created a visual identity that speaks to creative solutions, connection, and clarity. The design centres around a custom word mark paired with a subtle geometric symbol, reflecting both the name and the essence of the brand.

The colour palette is soft, calming, and contemporary, using muted earthy tones combined with clean, fresh neutrals. Typography choices balance approachability with professionalism, using rounded, modern sans-serifs paired with understated accents.
